WELCOME!
This page is a quick orientation of what happens at Lama Yeshe House, and hopefully helps you find what you're looking for.
Almost everything we offer is open to drop-in and check out as a newcomer.
If you have any questions at all, please contact us.
If you're looking to explore Buddhist philosophy...
We have drop-in classes going on pretty much all year. Discovering Buddhism is a 13-course program that is a good fit for newcomers, and is meant to give a solid foundation into Buddhist thought and practice.
Our approach to learning...
The Buddha advised to contemplate his teachings critically and deeply to see if they ring true to oneself and can be helpful. We take that open and inquisitive spirit as our learning culture. Also, all of our programs always try to integrate the traditional "Three Wisdoms" of Hearing (taking in information), Contemplation, and Meditation.
If you're looking for meditation...
Our meditation practices are always guided by registered FPMT-instructors and senior students. Practices range from basic meditation techniques that focus on the breath and cultivate mindfulness-awareness, and contemplation. We also regularly practice traditional meditations of Tibetan Buddhism which include visualization, ritual, prayer and so forth.
You can read more about current ongoing practices here.
If you'd like some community connection...
Our Sunday Programs are meant to be a mix of meaningful discussion and contemplation, some rejuvenating meditation, and relaxed community gathering time with tea and snacks. Some Sundays also include fun active events like meditation hikes, making traditional Buddhist art, and other activities.
