Tuesdays, 8 - 9:30pm MST, Feb 23 - March 16 (4 Sessions)
Course Description
In "Finding refuge: is a core practice in Buddhism. It is nourishing a sense of trust and devotion to what we find is true, and developing an inspired connection to the Buddha as a guiding example, the Dharma as the gateway to freedom and happiness, and the Sangha as the supporting community of friends on the spiritual path.
This process starts primarily as a reliance on the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha as resources outside ourselves, and gradually becomes an inner discovery of our own potential and nature of our mind and heart. A shift from "outer refuge" to an "inner refuge" as the say in the teachings.
This course will look at the process of finding refuge in the "Three Jewels" and introduce theories and simple practices for cultivating our sense of refuge in daily life.
With course readings, lecture, guided mediation and discussion. With FPMT teacher Justin Jenkins, M.A.
All are welcome to attend. No one is turned away due to a lack of funds.
Suggested donation is $35 for full course.
