Katherine's Full Letter to the Community

Dear Community Members,
Happy Losar! Losar is the celebration of Tibetan New Year and a special time of year for our tradition. Our parent organization, the FPMT, has advice for us on this occasion here. This is a time when merit can multiple by 100 million times with your acts of generosity—how amazing!
For those of you who are regular members of Lama Yeshe House, we thank you for your ongoing support! Our entire program is donation-based and without you, our programs would not be possible. As a token of our support, and in addition to other member benefits, we are currently providing all current and new members with a digital text from the FPMT, Essential Buddhist Prayers: Volume 1. Losar is also a wonderful time to think about becoming a member of Lama Yeshe House. If you are not a member and would like to join, or if you are a member and would like to increase your sponsorship, please visit our website.
From time to time we are afforded the privilege of hosting visiting teachers from around the world. We will have the fortune to host Geshe Thubten Sherab and Venerable Robina Courtin over the next two months. In order to cover the costs of their travel and hosting their teachings, we ask that you consider giving to our community by helping to sponsor their visits. Additionally, we have a full year of teachers and activities planned for which we need your help.
To give you some sense of these costs, our rental space is $775 per visit and the costs of their flights is approximately $300 per teacher, for a total cost of $2,000 for these events. We welcome sponsorship at any level or for any item, but our more formal levels of sponsorship are:

- Donations between $10-50 provide public snacks and make copies of Dharma materials.
- Donations between $50-150 to provide meals for our teachers and to subsidize the costs of their travel.
- Donations $150 and above. For these larger donations, we are able to give each donor a blessed Buddha tsa tsa, and if the donor is willing, public recognition at one of the teachings.

If you are moved to donate resources to help to cover these expenses, you can enter the amount of the donation and item you would like to contribute towards here on our website. All donations including our membership are tax-deductible.
We at Lama Yeshe House are committed to ensuring our programs are shared freely with everyone so that no one is excluded from opportunities to explore the Dharma. If you are not able to donate financially, please consider donating your time to volunteer at one of our upcoming visiting teacher events.
Thank you for your generosity and all that you do for the LYH community!
Sincerely,
