Please feel free to contact us with any questions at info@lamayeshehouse.org
Course Description:
The path is the holy Dharma and the essence of the path is the good heart. The greatest, highest good heart is bodhichitta – the determination to become a Buddha in order to liberate all sentient beings from sufferings. This is the supreme good heart. This is what we should generate. – Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Bodhichitta, the wish to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings, is the highest, most sublime motivation on the Buddhist path; it unlocks the door to full enlightenment, which makes the flourishing of our innate potential possible. Those who have a direct meditative realization of this state of mind are called Bodhisattvas, whose who have so familiarized their mind with bodhichitta that it becomes their sole focus, with every action of body, speech, and mind dedicated to the benefit of all sentient beings.
In this retreat Geshe Thubten Sherab will guide us through developing a clear understanding of the steps involved in cultivating this attitude and how we can begin to move in the direction of eventually becoming a Bodhisattva ourselves. This retreat will combine teachings, discussion, question and and answer, and periods of group meditation. This special weekend course is open to and appropriate for all levels of students.
